It’s actually happening,DCfans, as it’s been confirmed that Jason Momoa will finally be taking on the comic book role he was destined for in James Gunn’s new film universe.
Momoa actually confirmed the news himself in a recent post on Instagram, where he shared a quote from a past interview he had with Fandango regarding the role.

“So Lobo was… I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but was always my favorite,” reads the quote, “and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role'…”
“I mean, listen. If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a f*ck yeah… if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there."
In reference to the interview, Momoa’s post referencing the interview has a caption merely stating “They called.”
So far we don’t know too many details regarding the upcoming film Momoa will star in,Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

We of course know that it’s based on the Tom King comic series of the same name and that House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock will be taking on the role of Supergirl, but otherwise, we’re mostly in the dark.
“One of my favorite comic book series from last year was Tom King’s run on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” Gunn explained, “So, we’re going to turn that into a big, science fiction, epic film.”

We’ll have to wait a while to see it brought to life however, as the film will reportedly hit cinemas in June 2026. Thank god it’s almost the new year I guess.
