“I’m spending the year writing,” noted the actor, “I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh, and Shawn to do that is not Marvel.”

It’s well known that Reynolds and Jackman have been close friends for many years since they first worked together on theX-Menfranchise.

Now, their legacy can continue with a new project with long-time collaborator Shawn Levy.

Levy directed Hugh Jackman in 2011 sci-fiReal Steel, before going on to work with Reynolds on two films,Free Guyin 2021 andThe Adam Projectin 2022.

The trio has become even closer since the success over the summer of the R-rated Marvel team-up that paid homage to the X-Men films from 20th Century Fox.

It’s likely to be some time before fans get to see the film as it appears Reynolds will spend 2025 writing which means shooting won’t start until the following year at the earliest.
