ADestiny 2cheater now owes Bungie $500,000, with the developer also banning them from playing any of their games ever again.
They often say crime doesn’t pay, with even something small like cheating in a video game having severe consequences if you get caught.

OneDestiny 2player learned this lesson the hard way, incurring the wrath ofBungiewith a hefty lawsuit that’s gotten them banned from any and all Bungie games, including ones yet to be released.

Leone then created several new accounts, all of which faced similar bans, yet the message didn’t quite get through and now they’re being charged for every account they made to continue cheating online.
The lawsuit ended with them owing Bungie $300,000 for the copyright, with an additional $200,000 for 100 acts of ban circumvention. That’s $2,000 per new account made to escape the ban.
Leone has also been forced to delete any and all social media related to Bungie and their activities in Bungie games, and they’ve also been permanently banned from all of their developer’s titles, past, present and future. This also includes interaction with anyone who works for Bungie, as they allegedly harassed staff members online, and they’re also to stay 1,000 feet away from offices, homes, or apartments where staff work/live.

It’s undoubtedly a harsh punishment, but obviously not one that’s undeserved. Bungie has made itabundantly clear in the pastthat it has no mercy for cheaters and those who’d steal or manipulate its assets.
They’re not the only ones either, as earlier this yearNintendohit aNintendo Switchhacker witha multi-million dollar lawsuit, which they’ll likely be paying off for the rest of their life.
The moral of the story, don’t mess with video game developers.
