EA killing beloved game in September, making Xbox achievements impossible to claim

Xbox users should be prepared for another server shutdown for a beloved game later this year, especially those who are true achievement hunters.

AfterXboxrevealed that April would see the end ofMadden NFL 20andWarface: Breakout’sservers with those set to shut down on 15 April and 30 April respectively, the company has added another title to the ever-growing pile.

A recent report reveals thatEAis set to shutdownNHL 20servers this September. The servers will close on 16 September according to EA’sonline service pageand will spell the end for players who wish to achieve the game’s 22 online-only achievements. As a result, the game will no longer be available to play online for users on PlayStation 4,PlayStation 5, Xbox One, andXbox Series X|S.

With a bunch of achievements set to be discontinued with the server’s end, those who wish to get them have just a few months to do so. It is also worth mentioning that there are already three achievements unable to achieve inNHL 20after they were discontinued back in 2020. However, the 22 online-only achievements are still up for grabs for now.

Since the announcement,NHL 20has been removed from the Xbox store meaning that those who wish to earn the achievements and don’t already have the game will have to purchase a physical copy.
