With information from two separate sources, if the deal goes through, contracts could be signed over the upcoming weeks.

Although Sony already owns 2% of Kadokawa’s stocks. The media company is estimated to have stocks worth up to $2.7 billion.
If the deal goes through, developerFromSoftwarewill have Sony as its new big boss and as a result, any future releases from the studio could becomePlayStationexclusives.
As you can expect, this news would not go down well with the rest of the gaming community but on the flip side, exclusive titles never really stay exclusive for long these days.
The news broke overnight and since then, people have been flocking to threads such as r/PS5 to share their thoughts over the potential acquisition.

Of course, the general consensus was the hope that this potential acquisition could increase the chance of that infamousBloodborneremaster.
However, both Sony and Kadokawa have yet to comment on the news so it remains to be seen if it is true and if so, when we can expect the deal to be made.
