Elden Ring 2 quietly teased following Shadow Of The Erdtree announcement

TheElden RingexpansionShadow of the Erdtreewas only revealed this week and it’s still months away from being released, but it already seems that a sequel is being teased.

Whenspeaking toIGN, while not confirming thatElden Ring 2will beFromSoftware’snext game, it wasn’t ruled out either. “We don’t want to say this is the end of theElden Ringsaga for now,” said Miyazaki. “I think we said a similar thing at the end ofDark Souls3. We didn’t want to flatten those possibilities or put a pin in them just at that time.”

He continued: “It’s a similar story withElden Ring. We don’t want to discourage the possibilities for that. There might be more ideas in the future. We don’t have any current plans to make a second DLC or a sequel, but we definitely don’t want to snuff out that possibility. We think that there could well be something in the future.”

In my humble opinion, given the success thatElden Ringhas garnered both critically and commercially, the prospect of anElden Ring 2always seems likely and I think we can trust FromSoftware to knock it out of the park once more.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtreewill be released on 21 June 2024 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
