While we wait players have wasted no time replayingElden Ring, sampling and organising its convoluted lore, and making a few minor and major changes via mods.

Despite arguably being FromSoftware’s most accessible soulsborne,Elden Ringstill packs a challenge for seasoned veterans of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s twisted game design. The Elden Ring Ascended Mod ups the ante with three difficulty settings, Age of Stars, Age of Frenzy and Age of Death.

Changes include adding more enemies to boss encounters, changing the time of day to night which spawns several tougher enemies, increasing the amount of status damage the player receives and even brand new boss fights you won’t have seen before.

It’s no joke, and the mod even comes with a warning for players not expecting much of a challenge. It reads: “Warning: This Mod is Extremely Hard! If you don’t like Hard or Unfair Fights don’t play this Mod.” It even goes on to say only 5% of players who download the mod go on to complete it, if you’re looking for greater incentive to test what you’re made of.

The modder also made similar Ascension mods for several Dark Souls games.
