Reddit user bugzapperbob recentlyshared a videoof them starting the Mimic Tear fight, before throwing a single lightning pot at it before it can fully take shape as your character.
This instantly kills the boss, meaning you don’t have to fight it at all if you don’t really want to.

It turns out while the Mimic Tear is still in its blob-like form, it’s significantly weak to lighting damage, so players will have a split second to K.O the Tear before it becomes more of a problem.
