Despite still beingseveral years awayfrom release, fans have already begun discussing what the game might be like, but more importantly, who’ll actually get to play it.
As we all know,Microsoftacquired ZeniMax Media, which owned Bethesda, in 2021 promptingStarfield’sexclusivity on the Xbox Series X/S. Fans wholeheartedly believe that this will mean all future Bethesda titles, includingThe Elder Scrolls VIandFallout 5, will also be exclusives to Microsoft’s platform.
Recently, the Head of Xbox Phil Spencer addressed the discourse, and while their answer was incredibly vague, it wasn’t an outright ‘no’ toThe Elder Scrolls VIappearing onSony’splatform.

Spencer went on to say: “We’re looking at millions and millions of players who will have access to Starfield and other Xbox Game Studios games. It’s really about giving players choice around how they want to play and they build their library of games.”
Again, it’s vague, but it’s worth noting thatStarfieldwas an entirely new IP, the first new IP Bethesda has released in years. For a series as prestigious as The Elder Scrolls, perhaps Microsoft will decide it’s better off keeping it multi-platform for better sales and better brand image?
Only time will tell, asThe Elder Scrolls VIcurrently has no release date or window, though it’ll definitely be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
