It has been a long road forThe Elder Scrolls VIsince it was first announced back in 2018. Now over five years later, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has shared some news about the game’s PlayStation 5 and Xbox exclusivity.
It is no surprise that fans went wild over the announcement of an upcomingElder Scrollsgame during 2018’s E3. However, with over five years without any word, it had started to become a distant memory. August 2023 sawThe Elder Scrolls VIenter full developmentbut the delay could see the fantasy RPG not being released until at least 2028. It’s no wonderSkyrimGrandmais afraid she will miss it!

He adds: ‘We’re looking at millions and millions of players who will have access to Starfield and other Xbox Game Studios games. It’s really about giving players a choice around how they want to play and they build their library of games.’
However, this is not what Spencer said back in 2021 where he claimed that all Bethesda titles wouldlaunch on Xbox only(much to the surprise ofBethesda). This includedElder Scrolls 6.Either Spencer has forgotten about this comment or we will see the nextElder Scrollstitle arrive to bothPlayStation5 and Xbox Series X/S.
With a long way to go until we see the release ofThe Elder Scrolls VI,we could have even moved on to our next generation of consoles. Regardless of its exclusivity, it will definitely be a title millions of people will be picking up.
