OnThe Elder Scrolls VIsubreddit, user DimesBlacktoothgrinasked, “Do you guys feel like Bethesda overplayed their hands?”

It’s such a loaded question, and therefore, there are plenty of loaded answers.

The general consensus, though, is that Bethesda was forced into the reveal to appease the fandom.

“They announced it early because people kept asking if it was going to happen at all,” argued one fan.

To which another said, “Their issue was f**king off and doing nothing with the IP for so damn long. No, ESO doesn’t count, for obvious reasons.”

Elsewhere, others blamed Bethesda’s Todd Howard for his “passion project”, akaStarfield, becoming the next experience the publisher dedicated its resources to.

Although most of the commentary from fans is negative, there are a handful of would-be players grateful that Bethesda is taking its time.

“I for one am glad that Bethesda isn’t some studio that churns out a new, uninspired sequel every few years like Call of Duty,” shared CptDecaf, “I didn’t even likeStarfieldbut I’m glad they were able to work on something they wanted to.”

Debates regarding this game are rife everywhere, and not simply due to its early teaser.

Gamers are also uncertain whetherThe Elder Scrolls VIshould launch on PlayStation.

However, it would seem that decision doesn’t rest with them, for rumour has it that it’ll definitelylaunch on the PlayStation 5.

We just hope that when it does finally launch, or indeed when we get a proper trailer, less discourse will ensue.
