Elder Scrolls fans everywhere have been waiting with bated breath for the release ofThe Elder Scrolls VI. Given that it’s been almost 12 years sinceSkyrimhit our screens (for the first time, at least), it’s understandable that people have been drumming their fingers waiting for some new content to sink their teeth into.
Before we get into it, take a look at some of the funniest wins and fails fromSkyrimbelow.
As Xfirereports, an individual who claims to be an ex-employee of video game studio Virtuos took to the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit to publish a bunch of details about a number of projects they claim that the studio is currently working on, including a remake or remaster ofThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. According to the user, the project is currently named “Altar”, and it’s still being decided whether it’ll be a full remake or not.

“It is done currently using a pairing system, so it means that the remaster is running using both anUnreal Engine5 project, and the oldOblivionone,” the user alleged (via Xfire). “For instance, new graphics are rendered in the UE5 project, but most of the gameplay/physics/etc. [are] still done inOblivion. It should be released end of next year/early [2025] depending mostly on if it’s a remake or remaster. It is mostly done in Paris, but Black Shamrock also helps the studio for the art.”
While the post has since been taken down, and the Reddit account which published it has also been deleted, one of the subreddit’s moderators apparently verified that the individual really was a former employee of the studio. Even so, be sure to take it with a pinch of salt.
