Ezio Trilogy hailed as ‘peak Assassin’s Creed’, and we agree

For 16 years, the Assassin’s Creed series has been one of publisher Ubisoft’s crown jewel properties.

There have been many releases from the series over those years and with just about each and every entry, we’re introduced to a new charismatic character to fall for. In the original game from 2007, Altair had a brooding charm, as did the somewhatmisunderstood Connor fromAssassin’s Creed III(don’t @ me).

The series has never been short of likeable characters with the likes ofEdward Kenway, Kassandra, Eivor, the Frye twins and so many more. However, the star of today’s article is none other than the one and onlyEzio Auditore da Firenze, who we fell for inAssassin’s Creed II,BrotherhoodandRevelations. Granted, he was a lot more grumpy inRevelationsdue to his age and experience, but he was arguably more badass than ever.

Fans on Reddit have been discussing Ezio, hailing his era as ‘peak Assassin’s Creed’ and we’re inclined to agree. Well, while Ezio is my personal favourite character, on a different day I might say Edward Kenway.

“Brotherhoodwas amazing. The multiplayer was absolutely chaotic and fun,” said ThreeSloth with whitericeboi responding: “Agreed.Brotherhoodis probably my #1.”

“I feelBrotherhoodandBlack Flagwere at their peak,” exclaimed TotallyNotYourDaddy. “I have to agree that the story inACIIwas excellent for the period that it came out in.”

As for more recent entries in the series, fans are lovingAssassin’s Creed Miragewhich takes the franchise back to its 2007 roots. Inour reviewofAssassin’s Creed Mirage, we said it’s “a glorious return to form for the series, and I had a joyous time playing through it. It’s great to see the series shift its focus back to stealth and a compelling narrative about the Order of Assassins, and I sincerely hope Ubisoft treatMirageas the new baseline going forward, whilst still evolving the series further.”

Assassin’s Creed Mirageis out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. As for the main man himself,Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collectionis out on all modern platforms.
