This year’s Xbox Games Showcase was, quite simply, breathtaking.
Dare I say that it was easily one of the best showcases we’ve seen in recent years? The world premieres kept on coming thick and fast, offering a great mix of cinematic reveals and gameplay first-looks.
Gears of War: E-Daywas arguably the night’s biggest headliner, butDOOM: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight,Life is Strange: Double Exposure, andCall of Duty: Black Ops 6also proved to be very popular with viewers.

Fablesurfaced during the showcase with a brand new trailer which confirmed the game’s 2025 launch window.

“Sources tell me Microsoft is currently targetingFableto release between October and December 2025, so it could still be another 18 months away,” he wrote.
But I don’t want to get into the specifics ofGears of War: E-Daytoo much.
Let’s hop back toFablebecause what I’m concerned about here isn’t the long wait ahead.

It’s the fact thatFablemay be going head-to-head withGrand Theft Auto VIwhich is targeting a Fall 2025 release (September to November).
Let’s face it, any game launching close toGrand Theft Auto VIis going to seriously harm its chances of success.
It awaits to be seen what’ll happen but I know I’ll be revisiting this beloved franchise the very first day I possibly can.
