The Fallout series is not only one of Bethesda’s most popular properties but it’s an RPG franchise that is considered to be the best of all time amongst its genre. So if we can play a better version of a game we already love, you can bet that it piques our interest.
Long beforeBethesdareleased its first entry in the post-apocalyptic series withFallout 3in 2008, this beloved franchise was quite a different game, at least from its perspective, unlike the choice of third-person and first-person that we have today. And of couse, modern Fallout games are on a much larger grand scale. Speaking of the third numbered entry in the series, it has been rumoured that anofficial remaster ofFallout 3is on the day.

There’s nomoddingcommunity quite as vibrant as the one associated with theFalloutseries whether it’s remastering a beloved classic, adding new content or even fixing bugs that may have plagued a title for years. In the case ofFallout 2, a team of modders are remaking the classic RPG usingFallout 4’sCreation Engine and the results are stunning.
The remake in question is calledFallout 4: Project Arroyoand it’s currently very early in development, so its release could be a couple of years away at least. What’s more, the Project Arroyo development team are rallying the troops for anyone willing to lend a hand to bring this remake to life. So if you’re a modder, artist or actor, you canregisteryour interest.
This remake looks like it’s a conversion mod forFallout 4, so it probably won’t be a standalone game and will likely need a copy ofFallout 4on PC to play it. That’s assuming that Bethesda doesn’t shut down the project. Hopefully, that won’t happen and this fanmade remake will see the light of day.
Fallout 4is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A free new-gen upgrade for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is expected to be released at some point this year.
