Fallout 2 remake trailer confirms game will be fully open world

Fallout 2, one of the most popular entries in the post-apocalyptic RPG series is getting a fully open-world remake.

Long before it was aBethesda-owned property that began with 2008’s brilliantFallout3which has a huge and immersive open world, the series once had a turned-based formula with a pseudo-isometric perspective.

“Fallout 2is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game that took RPG’ing out of the dungeons and into a dynamic, apocalyptic retro-future. It’s been 80 long years since your ancestors trod across the wastelands,” reads the synopsis of the game.

Don’t get us wrong,Fallout 2is still a fantastic game to play today, even after all these years yet we can’t help but wonder, what would this RPG be like remade in the modern era as an open-world game?

Well, that’s exactly what a collective group ofindiedevelopers known as Project Arroyo sets out to achieve.

Developed usingFallout 4’sCreation engine, in a gameplay comparison video shared on YouTube, the impressive faithfully recreatedFallout 2looks like it could be a joy to play for both new and returning fans.

“The fact that I started playing the original game recently makes me want to play this masterpiece already. Good work guys,” commented a joyful memeckiy.

“You have no clue how excited I am at seeing Project Arroyo coming to fruition. I can hardly walk in a straight line, I’m so excited,” exclaimed MostlyPeacefulWACO.

Sadly, it must be stated thatFallout 2: Project Arroyois not coming to consoles as this is exclusive to PC.
