Fallout 3’s best DLC has a faithful, free remaster

Fallout 3is considered to be one of the best RPGs of all time and not just one under the Bethesda umbrella. Some could even say thatFallout 3set the standard for all following games in the Bethesda series.

Released in 2008 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360,Fallout 3was met with high critical acclaim earning a score of 93 and the “Must-Play” accolade on theaggregate websiteMetacritic, solidifying its place as an all-time great. However, not just content with the critical success of the baseFallout 3game,Bethesdalater launched some fantastic pieces of DLC giving fans even more of a reason to return to the post-apocalyptic wasteland.

“Point Lookoutis the most open-ended DLC yet and allows you to explore an entirely new and expansive gameplay area any way you’d like. A completely new quest line allows you to uncover the town’s hidden secrets, and wield powerful new weapons like the Double-Barrel Shotgun against the swamp’s dangerous, and deformed, denizens. So venture toPoint Lookout, if you dare. Just pray it’s not a one-way trip,” reads the synopsis of the popular DLC.

The mod description says that thePoint Lookoutremaster forFallout 4features all the locations, quests, NPCs, weapons, consumables and more found in the original DLC from 2009. However, this faithful fan-made remaster also comes with newly animated icons for several perks as well as new load screens.

At the time of writing, thePoint Lookoutremaster mod is only available for the PC version ofFallout 4. That being said, with the arrival of the new-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S this year, hopefully, that will change.

Fallout 4is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no extra cost.
