Fallout 4 free update full of classic Bethesda bugs, and I don’t know whether to laugh or cry

After waiting what seems to be millennia, the freeFallout 4new-gen update has arrived for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and it’s glorious, well, mostly.

Thanks to the release ofAmazonStudios’ live-actionFalloutseries, the popularity of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG has reached a fever pitch withmore players visiting the wastelandsthan they have in years and now theFalloutshow has beenrenewed for a second season.

Even before we were treated to the Amazon Studios production, theFalloutseries has always been one of the most popular in the video game industry thanks to its immersive storytelling, interesting characters and missions, as well as huge open worlds full of secrets waiting to be discovered. The popularity of just about anyBethesdagame is often the talk of the town even with its infamous bugs and glitches.

So despite the freeFallout 4new-gen update which brings improved resolution and framerates, it’s still seemingly plagued with Bethesda bugs and we don’t know whether we’re going to laugh or cry. “The newFallout 4PS5 version is gorgeous,”saidsarcastic Reddit user CSSJAZZ showing a clip of textures not loading up, before a Dogmeat falls through the floor.

I was playingFallout 4on my Xbox Series X last night and the visual and performance upgrade was clear for me to see. However, I still encountered a few graphical glitches but thankfully nothing that broke my immersion too much.

Fallout 4is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It’s also available to those who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium at no extra cost.
