While I’d wholeheartedly recommend approaching the game at your own pace and progressing through naturally, there are a number oftips and tricksyou can learn if you just want to get into the high-level action.
While plenty of great tips and tricks were shared, one turns out to be a great way of farming XP and sellable items with minimal effort.
Commenter bluishgreyish says you can “build cabinets for xp, leave them for a bit and they’ll spawn items like tape and microscopes, good cheese for a survival play through early game.”

Now you’re not going to hit max level this way, at least not for a while, but as the commenter said it’s a good way of kickstarting your playthrough early-on.
Another tip is harvest plenty of wood for your settlement, build fences, demolish them and then build them again, do that repeatedly and you’ll quickly rack up XP.
