Fallout 5 isn’t coming till after Elder Scrolls 6, so strap in for a wait

Bethesda has confirmedFallout 5is apparently years away, scheduled afterElder Scrolls 6which is only just entering pre-production.

Todd Howard has confirmedFallout 5is in the pipeline atBethesda, but warns fans who want to explore yet another post-apocalyptic wasteland will have a long wait ahead of them.

Check out the gameplay trailer for the upcoming Bethesda RPG, Starfield below.

The developer is currently hyper-focused on its new IPStarfield, which is just weeks away from its exclusive launch onXbox Series X/SandPCplatforms. Following that, work will commence onThe Elder Scrolls VI, which is apparently still in very early development despite receiving a teaser/announcement trailer all the way back in 2018, much to the frustration of fans who are tired of game developers announcing games years before their expected release.

Howard said: “Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well.”

No timeframe was given for either of the projects, but ifThe Elder Scrolls VIis still in theearly stagesof development, it’ll likely be a few years until we see it release, nevermindFallout 5which is probably just a concept at this point. Even Todd Howard himself doesn’t know if he’ll be working onFallout 5, believing that the time it’ll take to makeElder Scrolls VIwill mark theend of his work at Bethesda.

There’s also reason to believe both of the future projects will accompanyStarfieldasXbox exclusives, which is a decision that will surely upsetPlayStationfans, who have beencampaigningto bringStarfieldto their platform of choice.
