Fallout 5 release date has fans questioning their own mortality

Fallout 5’srelease date feels so far away that some are wondering if they’ll even be alive to see it launch.

Fallout 76launched back in 2018, the same year Bethesda teasedThe Elder Scrolls VIandStarfieldas its next two games.

Fallout 76has gone from zero to hero in that time, with the latest updates actually giving us a reason to play it.

We’re in 2024 now, and whileStarfieldlaunched to good reviews but poor player reception,The Elder Scrolls VIis nowhere to be seen, and there’s no word on when there’ll be an update on the game’s progress.

To make matters worse,Bethesdahas promisedFallout 5will be the next game afterTheElder Scrolls VI, but given how long it’ll probably be before it releases, it’s looking like another decade before we get to return to the wastelands.

Fans on Reddit have been discussing the game’s potential release window, with some calling it unacceptable that we’re having to wait this long.

Some quickly jumped to the defence of Bethesda, saying, “Bethesda focuses on one main project at a time. AfterFallout 4,it wasStarfield, then it’sElder Scrolls VI, then Fallout (probably, not confirmed). So be prepared to wait until like 2033.”

One fan cheekily commented thatFallout 5is going to “go hard in the retirement home,” and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if it took that long to launch.

It’s anyone’s guess whenFallout 5is coming out, but knowing Bethesda, it’ll likely be worth the wait.
