Fallout: New Vegas 2 may finally be on the horizon

Bethesdaowns some major IPs in the games industry, most notablyThe Elder Scrollsand theFalloutseries, the latter of which being more popular than ever thanks to the success of the TV series.

If you watched the TV series but haven’t played the games, do yourself a favour and watch the video below on where you should start

The problem with Bethesda making such big games though is it takes ages for any of them to come out, as the company basically just released its new IPStarfield, and is now in full-on development ofThe Elder Scrolls VI.

This putsFallout 5in the distant future, and with ramping pressure fromXboxto get a new Fallout game outsooner rather than later, it seems Bethesda are taking all options into consideration to make it happen.

During aninterviewwith Kinda Funny Games this week, Bethesda exec Todd Howard spoke about the time it takes to craft a game like Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Howard said: “You know, they do take a long time, and so I think one of the things we’re focused on here is obviously making sure they’re of the highest quality, but also finding ways to increase our output, because we don’t want to wait that long either, right? It’s never our plan, but we want to make sure we get it right.”

Bethesda hasn’t handed one of its IPs to another developer since Obsidian Entertainment, a good thing too because it gave us the legendaryFallout: New Vegas.

When asked if he’d be interested in working with Obsidian again, Todd Howard said: “I would say we’ve always had those conversations.”

With that in mind, perhapsFallout: New Vegas 2isfinallyon the cards, especially if theFalloutTV series takes viewers to the glimmering metropolis in its second season.
