I loveForza: MotorsportandGran Turismoas much as the next guy, but we definitely need some more variety in our racing games. We could be on the verge of getting a new Burnout game ifthis teaseris to be believed, but the real prize would be a new Need For Speed game.

Simply put, Need For Speed is a classic street-racing series pretty similar to Forza Horizon. Instead of racing up and down designated race tracks, you barrel through towns and cities at breakneck speed, evading the police and making a mad dash for first place.

It was brilliant, hectic fun and while future games tried to improve the formula with new twists and gameplay mechanics you can’t deny the simplicity of getting from A to B as fast as you can is what makes a racer so good.
The last Need For Speed game to release wasNeed For Speed Unbound, which was good but wasn’t met with overwhelmingly positive reviews.
That being said, a full-on remake of one of the first games, or the ever-popularNeed For Speed: Underground 2could be just what the series needs to bring it up to the prestige of Forza and Gran Turismo.
