Even today, over a decade later,Far Cry 3has aged like a fine wine and if you play theClassic Editionwhich was released in 2018, it looks better with an increased resolution. However, thisClassic Editionwasn’t the remaster fans had hoped for with a locked 30 frames-person-second as well as its map editor and multiplayer being removed.
This glorious free mod increases theFar Cry 3texture files from 256x256 pixels to 1024x1024, 512x512 to 2048x2048 and so forth. There are no gameplay improvements with this mod, it’s purely graphical, so it’s as faithful of a remaster as it gets.
Sadly, as in most cases, thisFar Cry 3mod is only available for the PC version of the game. For the rest of us, we can at least enjoy this Ubisoft classic as intended on PlayStation and Xbox.
