Alongside the Assassin’s Creed franchise, one of Ubisoft’s other most popular and lucrative properties is Far Cry.
More often than not, eachFar Cryentry plonks you on a gorgeous tropical island with things that want to kill you - including lions, crocodiles, and bandits. Though the most deadly of predators has to be that pesky Honey Badger. Seriously, don’t mess with the Honey Badger, because the Honey Badger will exact its revenge.

OnMetacritic,Far Cry 6earned decent scores across all available platforms that hovered in the 70s region. Sure, it never scored badly, but it never blew fans out of the water either. One of the most common complaints from the community isFar Cry 6adopted the tried and tested formula of previous entries, playing it safe and not really attempting to push the boundaries of the series.
In our review ofFar Cry 6, we scored it a 6/10 with our writer saying: “I really wantedFar Cry 6to be more than the previous games. A shake-up of the formula that accounted for the violence of its setting. You’re leading a revolution, starting a vicious civil war between entrenched factions, this is something open world games can reflect so well as areas of its land change based on your actions. But, disappointingly, it not only does little with its premise but is a poor version of things Far Cry has done well in the past.”
On Reddit, users have been discussing games that they thought received too much hate. “My pick would beFar Cry 6. Everyone seems to hate it, yet I really enjoyed it and thought it was better than5. What are your opinions on this?”askedLeonSmith1401 kicking off the discussion on the thread.
“It’s not thatFar Cry 6is a bad game, it’s just that it’s been the same game for the past 10 years,” replied Competitive-Delay815. “Isn’t that kind of why you play Far Cry, though?” adds TheLeadSponge.
