Far Cry 7 title and setting teased by insider

Alongside the likes of Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell (though you’d be forgiven if you forgot about the latter), Far Cry is one of Ubisoft’s biggest properties.

The first game in theFar Cryseries was launched onPCin 2004 before the series eventually released across multiple platforms in the generations that followed. Arguably, the series achieved a new level of popularity withFar Cry 3in 2012, largely thanks to its charismatic antagonist,Vaas Montenegro.

In ourreview ofFar Cry 6, we said: “You’re leading a revolution, starting a vicious civil war between entrenched factions, this is something open world games can reflect so well as areas of its land change based on your actions. But, disappointingly, it not only does little with its premise but is a poor version of things Far Cry has done well in the past.”

What’s more, it’s been claimed that the player must rescue the kidnapped family within 72 in-game hours, which is reportedly 24 hours in real-time. Furthermore, family members can be rescued in any order and some may be killed but you can rescue them all to achieve 100% completion.

Of course, we should take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, but if these rumours are true, it could be the most interesting Far Cry game in years. Hopefully, Ubisoft will officially announceFar Cry 7at some point this year.
