Another Far Cry game is on the way, but this one isn’t Far Cry 7, it’s actually a multiplayer extraction shooter.
Ubisoft is likely hard at work at the seventh instalment of theFar Cryseries, with recent job listingssuggesting it’s definitely in development.
Hopefully it’s better than Far Cry 6, which you can check out below
In a surprising turn of events though, another Far Cry is reportedly on the way, reportedly a spin-off title that see you buddy up with a friend to survive the Alaskan wilderness.

We all know muchUbisoftlove a good spin-off, just look at theAssassin’s Creedseries, but the developer is apparently trying something new with this one.
TitledProject Maverick, with its name subject to change, the game will embrace the fundamental survival aspect of the Far Cry series, and essentially transform it into a looter-shooter that you can play in co-op.
You basically repeat that process as you acquire new, better gear, build up your Hideout and unlock more to do in the world. It’s said that as you level up, you’ll also unlock perks to make you more efficient, much like the skill trees present in the main Far Cry games.

The most exciting part aboutMaverickis it’s supposed difficulty. It’ll apparently feature Permadeath where the player will lose everything they own, that’s not stored in a Hideout, and have to start all over again.
A release date is currently unknown, though the game is expected to release sometime beforeFar Cry 7. It’s estimated that’ll be sometime in 2025 though that’s unconfirmed at this time.
