Cait Sith is best known for their appearance inFinal Fantasy VII, however, they’ve been a part of the Final Fantasy universe since the second game back in 1988. Admittedly, they only appeared as an enemy character and looked more like a panther than how we see them now. This happened again inFinal Fantasy IVand they only began to look how we see them now, with the red scarf wrapped around a black and white cat, inFinal Fantasy VI. You can find this feline companion in nearly allFinal Fantasygames,much like Cid.
Cait Sith was always a lesser known character until the seventh game where they became a playable character who would be an integral part of Cloud’s team. When we first met Cait Sith he was a fortune teller at Gold Saucer, which is how he appears inFinal Fantasy VII Rebirth, too. In the originalFinal Fantasy VII, the cat and his moogle were placed within Cloud’s team in order to spy on them for Shinra. What many people aren’t aware of, is that Cait Sith is a robot underneath all that fur and he makes for a perfect spy with cameras and microphones in his body.

The initial sadness did not last long as a new version of Cait Sith appeared with all his memories and experiences intact, allowing him to redeem himself and rejoin the group to take down Sephiroth.
