Brand has since denied the allegations, saying his relationships have always been “consensual”. In a video posted to YouTube, he said, “Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous.”
Mila Kunis recently came under fire after previously having written a character letter for the now-convicted rapist Danny Masterson. Masterson worked with Kunis onThat 70s Show. She wrote that he had an “exceptional character” and that she could “sense his innate goodness”. Masterson has since been convicted of two counts of rape, and was sentenced to 30 years in jail.
Kunis, alongside Ashton Kutcher, appeared in an apology video last week. Kutcher explained that the letters were “intended for the judge to read and not to undermine the testimony of the victims or re-traumatise them in any way,” adding, “We’d never want to do that, and we’re sorry if that has taken place.”

The accusations made against Brand, and the ongoing investigation of them, clearly take precedent above all else. The Met Police confirmed a few days ago that they’ve received one formal report of sexual assault. The situation remains in development.
