There was once a time where all we could do to assert dominance in competitive video games was to bring out the ol’ teabagging crouch. However, thanks to titles such asFortnite, there are now multiple ways to show your enemy who’s boss.
However, that ability may already be on the scrap heap after Epic Games recently announced the ability to disable player emotes inFortnite.

This would mean popular emotes such as Laugh It Up, Take the L, Whipcrack and Make It Plantain will now be able to be disabled in settings with the upcoming v29.30 update.
It appears as thoughEpicis implementing this feature as a way of stopping the emotes being used to promote toxic behaviour. However, this controversial feature is already going down badly with fans.
Epic Games also took to Twitter to share the controversial update, saying: “We want emotes to be a source of good vibes, but a few (cough Take the L cough) can sometimes feel a bit overly confrontational”.

With just a few days to go until Update v.29.30, players will at least be able to opt in or out of visibly seeing the affected emotes. However, if being given “the L” is enough to invoke rage, maybe the shooter genre just isn’t for you.
