Ultimate Game of The Year: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

It’s quite nice, then, to see our readers go a slightly different route and pickFinal Fantasy VII Rebirth;a game that’s more than deserving of the ultimate accolade.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirthis an absolutely stunning piece of work, offering up a gorgeous sandbox for us to play in and grounding it with one of the most genuinely likeable casts in any RPGever. Yes, there’s open-world busywork, but it feels a lot less like a chore when you simply get to spend more time hanging out with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and the gang.
Throw in some truly excellent combat, terrifyingly huge boss battles, and one of the best minigames of all time in Queen’s Blood, and you have a very worthy Game Of The Year winner.
