At last, the new Gears of War trailer has dropped. Sadly, it did not feature any gameplay as it was purely cinematic only, but it was enough to send fans in attendance at the live show and for those watching at home into a frenzy.

The Gears of War origins story means that the conclusion to the Kait Diaz story arc that began withGears 4in 2016 will be put on hold for now, at least. There were also rumours of aHalo: The Master Chief Collection-inspired bundle of remasters for the Gears of War series but unfortunately that bundle of joy was nowhere to be seen. That being said, I am a firm believer in there being no smoke without fire, so hopefully aGears of War remastered collectionmight still be announced in the coming months.

Gears of War: E-Daywill be released for PC and Xbox Series X/S but sadly no release date or window has been announced, yet. However, we do know that it will likely launch on day one on Xbox Game Pass and with a bit of luck, we’ll get that elusive release date later this year.
