Recently Carano stated that she was “harassed and defamed” and will now be taking legal action against Disney and LucasFilm, claiming wrongful discharge and sexual discrimination because she believes her male co-stars had posted similar political posts online but were not held accountable. She hopes to claim $75,000 in damages as well as being reinstated into the show, which soon be starting its fourth season.
It’s said that Elon Musk will be funding the case, following a pledge to help any celebrity who faced employment discrimination. Carano said: “I am grateful someone has come to my defense in such a powerful way & look forward to clearing my name.”
