
Santa Monica Studio has been one of Sony’s leading development teams since its inception in 1999, so it’s always going to be huge news when a new game is on the way.
Actually, despite being known for the legendaryGod of Warseries which made its debut on thePlayStation2 in 2005, Santa Monica Studios’ first-ever title was the somewhat unknown racing gameKineticareleased in 2001.

However, since the release ofGod of Warin 2005, not including any external titles such asTwisted Metal: Black,JourneyandThe Unfinished Swanto name a few,Santa Monica Studios’talents have been exclusively reserved for Kratos shenanigans.

So imagine the excitement when rumours began circulating thatSanta Monica Studiois potentially working on a new IP. This means that this could be the studio’s first non-God of War game in roughly 20 years.

Of course, Barlog could be teasing anything or nothing, but many fans will be hoping that it could either be the rumoured new IP or the next full follow-up toGod of War Ragnarök. Only time will tell.

It’s pretty much a given that there will be a new God of War game at some point, whether it’s this generation, next generation or a little bit of both. That being said, it will also be exciting news when Santa Monica Studio is ready to share details on its unannounced project.
