PlayStation has attracted a fair bit of criticism as of late.
You may have noticed that a number of remakes and remasters have landed, or at least are on the way.
The Last of UsPart II Remasteredkicked the year off, while Ballistic Moon’sUntil Dawnremake landed just last week.

The concern is that such projects will replace original, new creations.
And while I understand those concerns, those aforementioned remakes and remasters do make a lot of sense.
It all whittles down to ensuring the longevity of a franchise - of onboarding new fans. Especially as so many of the IPs I’ve mentioned have movie/TV adaptations either in existence or in the works.

There is one remaster project though that Sony fans haven’t taken issue with.
One so-called insider recently surfaced to claim that the originalGod of Wargames would be relaunched in a remastered collection to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
God of War Ragnarök’sValhallaDLC was Kratos’ last outing.

The insider went on to add that the announcement would be made in March 2025, coinciding with that aforementioned 20th anniversary, and would include all Greek Saga titles.
That includesGod of War, God of War II, God of War III, as well asChains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, andAscension.
According to Ignus, development is finished.
Now, fellow leaker Shpeshal_Nick has backed up the claims, taking to social media tosay, “I had only been told the original Trilogy back when I mentioned this, but if they’re addingAscensionand the PSP games that would be fantastic.”

Needless to say, fans are pretty excited.
“This could be REALLY good. Finally something that actually needs a remaster from PlayStation,”saidone fan.
“Now this is something that deserves a remaster/remake over the likes ofUntil Dawn,”addedanother.
