Attending conventions can be a fun pastime for those of us who enjoy so-called ‘nerd culture’.
Conventions bring together fans and some of the entertainment industry’s most recognisable faces.
You can meet creatives and the actors behind your favourite characters, cosplay, buy cool merchandise, meet like-minded people … there’s a lot of fun to be had.

If you’ve attended a convention though, you’ll know that buying an entrance ticket is one thing.
Purchasing a meet and greet with a famous face is another.
The celebrities in attendance are able to set their prices, with fans usually able to purchase either a signing slot or a more selfie-focused meet and greet.
Prices vary depending on who it is you want to meet. The more famous an individual, the higher the price they’re likely to charge.

You can understand why that’s the case if the demand is there.
Even still, Christopher Judge, best known for portraying Kratos inGod of WarandGod of War Ragnarök, has caused chatter in the gaming community for his rather high-end prices.

They added that Judge was “super nice” and that the interaction was “worth the money”. They simply wanted to pre-warn other fans.
The accompanying picture revealed the actor’s prices: $70 for an autograph, $40 for a selfie, $100 for a combination of the two, $90 for a Funko Pop autograph, $120 for a Funko Pop autograph and selfie, $30 for a quote, $250 for a 30 second voice recording, or $500 for a live call or facetime.
While $40 for a selfie is perhaps what you’d expect from con pricing, $250 for a 30-second recording is perhaps more unusual.

As you can see, people are pretty split but it’s a fair warning for those looking to attend other conventions this year.
