GTA 4: Ballad Of Gay Tony hailed as one of the greatest ever DLCs

Released in 2009 for theXbox360 andPlayStation3, the episodic expansions forGrand Theft Auto IVwere a big hit and a chance for fans to experience more of what Rockstar had to offer. WhereasLost and Damnedfollowed the story of Johnny Klebitz,The Ballad of Gay Tonyfollowed Luis Fernando Lopez, the best friend of Anthony “Gay Tony” Prince. Despite the DLC being released over 10 years ago, it is still hailed as one of the best even today.

The story follows Luis as he attempts to help Tony with a series of problems, including drug addiction, an excess of debt and disputes with the Mafia. Featuring similar gameplay asGrand Theft Auto IVand theGrand Theft Autoseries as a whole, you will need to fight, race and kill your way to the top all whilst completing a series of quests, side missions and activities.

For some Grand Theft Auto fans,The Ballad of Gay Tonyis one of their “favourite GTAs of all time” with anothersayingthe DLC “was great”. This has been a common theme for the Reddit community for many GTA discussions. One fan wrote, “I lovedTBOGT, it had a completely different feel and vibe to the original orLost and Damned. I loved running errands for Tony and being around the nightclub.” Anothersaid, “Just incredible. There was a perfect amount of camp inTBOGTand the ending… was satisfying. It was positive. I cried. It was a perfect bookend forGTA IV. I just wish we had even more of it.”

WithGrand Theft Auto VIarriving in the near future (hopefully), it remains to be seen if it will be as iconic as the previous instalments in the long-running series.
