However, Rockstar’s choice to remain silent is not going down well with fans who recently took to Reddit to question the studio’s decision. “Why didRockstarannounce that they were working onGTA VIin 2022?” one postread. “Since their tease/announcement in February 2022, there has been no official info on the game. Why do you think they even announced it so soon if they’re not going to update us on the game’s development or release any promo?”

Another user thinks the studio is unsure what to do after a large amount of leaks surfaced online last year. “Honestly I think they keep changing their minds on what to do - I think they were thinking about revealing the game not long after the leaks, hence them saying we’ll hear more about it in the coming months,” they wrote. “Pretty sure they mentioned it once more after that as well - but here we are almost a year later and nothing. My gut feeling tells me we won’t get an announcement this year - but who knows only time will tell.”
We may never know whyGrand Theft Auto VIis currently getting no publicity but it certainly hasn’t stopped fans from keeping the hype ongoing. Let us just hope the highly anticipated sequel is worth the speculation.
