Despite there being no cause for concern fans are still wary of a potentialdelay, and hints from a former Rockstar Games employee aren’t helping.

FormerGTAdeveloper Obbe Vermeij, who worked onGTA IV, has warned that if the game isn’t in a state Rockstar is happy with itwilldelay the game rather than release an unfinished product.

“The decision to delay GTA IV was made 4 months or so before the original release date” Vermeijsaid, “any further and it’s hard to make the call. R* is probably not in a position to determine whether they will hit 2025 until May-ish.”

They continued “It [GTA IV] really wasn’t ready yet. I would have been a mess. Delaying is almost always the right option imo.”

While it would be annoying I’m sure the last thing any of us want is anotherCyberpunk 2077situation on our hands.

Keep in mind though that many industry insiders have claimed they’d be incredibly surprised if Rockstar has to delay the game so the likelihood of it happening seems low for the time being.

GTA VIis going to feature an enormous open-world so Rockstar will need as much time as it can get to ensure all the pieces work together.
