Previously,Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick has discussed pricing games on their “per-hour value”.
Naturally, if AAA games were to do this, the cost would be eye-wateringly high, and they’re not exactly cheap now.
This is where the divide amongst GTA fans began in earnest.
User Life_Marionberry_157 believes it a “rumour”, one that’s never going to happen.

Yet, while others feel it’s an unlikely move from the parent company, they dislike the idea that such a price model should ever exist.
Moreover, while it won’t be a value per hour price (we hope), fans believe Rockstar will “push its luck” to squeeze extra money out of its fans.
“I think they’re going to push it and go 80 bucks. 70 is the new industry standard andRockstarknows that GTA is the biggest IP in gaming and probably worth an extra 10 bucks,” commented Rkramden.

There’s even mention of how video game piracy “becomes more morally correct” when talks of steep price increases begin.
