The company shared a tweet this afternoon sharing the news that it’ll be celebrating its25th anniversary, along with the announcement that the first official look atGrand Theft Auto VIwill be released sometime in December.

This will reportedly be a full-on trailer, leaving people questioning whether the game’s release date will also be announced. Speculation suggests it’ll launch sometime inSpring 2025forXboxSeries X/S andPlayStation5, though a trailer so soon could indicate a late 2024 release depending on how much is shown.
As you would expect, the news went straight to theGrand Theft Autosubreddits, where fans were thrilled to finally have some official confirmation, and not just an unsubstantiated rumour or leak.

It’s safe to say fans couldn’t quite contain their excitement, with many finding it hard to believe that official news was actually shared, as well as praising some of the insiders who got the timing right on their leaks.
