However, some believed the game looked “too good,” and are now concerned the actual gameplay won’t live up to expectations. Fear not though, as an ex-Rockstar dev has confirmedGTA VIwill look just as good in gameplay as it does in cutscenes.
This news came from Mike York, who previously worked as an animator for Rockstar Games onGTA VandRed Dead Redemption 2. York broke down the new trailer forGTA VIin aYouTube video, and gave some insight into what the design process for Rockstar games is like and what fans can expect from the full release.
York confirmed the game’s jaw-dropping cutscenes are “all done in-game.” He went on to say “If you see that building way in the back, you can go to that building, you can climb it, you can jump off it.”

A promising update, and hopefully one that quells any fears fans have of their setting their expectations too high.
The only thing missing now is a release date. Rockstar has coyly said 2025 but hasn’t gone into any more detail than that.
