GTA 6 getting single-player DLC support, says insider

GTAVandRed Dead Redemption 2sadly missed out on single-player DLC, quite likely in favour for more content in the online components of both games. However, it’s looking likely that the much anticipatedGTA 6will be a return to form forRockstar Games.

The rumour mill keeps churning for the ‘most wanted’ game of the generation

Rockstar Games used to produce a good amount of DLC for their games.Red Dead Redemptionreceived the brilliantUndead Nightmares, whileGTA IVsawThe Lost and Damnedand the truly phenomenal,The Ballad of Gay Tony. For whatever reason, the sequels to both of those games neglected solo players, choosing not to expand the worlds of each.

Now, leaker Tez2 is back and suggesting they have information thatGTA 6will see episodic content release periodically that will include map updates and would be supplied as frequently as the expansions to the online mode. There’s even a chance that we could see entirely new cities, which would be very ambitious but not beyond the realms of Rockstar Games.

Tez2 has previously stated that Rockstar could release the episodes as a way of spreading out theGTA 6content to make it last longer, and would also alleviate stress and crunch from the game’s long development cycle. Of course,GTAV Onlinebecame such a success story that it has kept the game alive and selling well, that we’d be surprised if the new game doesn’t push its online mode in the same way. It’s a lot of work, but for a company as big as this, it’s doable.
