How goodGTA VIwill look is up for debate, as we still have little to go on save for the odd leak here and there. Still, while we have no solid, monumental insight into how gorgeous it’ll look, a realistic mod forGTA Vis teasing the kind of graphics we can anticipate.
I want to make it abundantly clear that this is speculation only, based on a fan-made vision rather than anything Rockstar has created. But what else are we to do? Thanks to Rockstar Games giving us little to work with, fans have to fill the void any way they can while they wait forGTA VIto become more than the decade-old legend it currently is. However, this mod, combined with the news thatGTA VIwill be“lightyears” ahead ofRed Dead Redemption 2, graphically speaking, is enough to convince me that this is closer to truth than fiction. Especially consideringRDR2fans still think itlooks incredible despite being five years old.

The thing is, are all consoles going to be able to handle it if it does deliver? Players are already deeply concerned that theXbox S will delayGTA VIeven further, similar to the delays it’s causedBaldur’s Gate 3. If this is the case, then will compromises need to be made? Though the Xbox S might be the least of our problems depending on how Netflix does in obtaining alicensing deal with Rockstar Gamesfor previous GTA titles.

Unusual platform developments aside, we also can’t ignore the debate over whether better graphics actually equate to a better game. “I notice the better the graphics get the less I care to play;GTA IIIandIVblew minds with what they did in everything,” argues one gamer. “Even ifGTA VIlooked like this out of the box, they [the devs] have so much more they need to improve, from NPC behaviour to world interactions.”
