Grand Theft Auto VIis the most highly anticipated video game in years, but yet, we know practically next to nothing about it.
DeveloperRockstar Gamesannounced that it was working onGTA VIback in February 2022, but since that time fans have not been provided any form of official update. We don’t have aGTA VIrelease date, we’ve not seen any trailers and we do not know what story it will tell.

More recently, a report claimed that an updated RAGE Engine which was used to powerRed Dead Redemption 2will provideGTA VIwithunreal physics and dynamic weather effects. Sure,RDR2was released in 2018, but it’s still a stunning game and if that engine is enhanced forGTA VI, then we totally expect the next entry in this series to blow us away.
That being said, as I mentioned earlier, other than those gameplay leaks, which were taken from an early build of the game, we don’t know what the final version ofGTA VIwill look like. However, a gameplay video fromRed Dead Redemption 2was shared on TikTok that might give us a glimpse of how goodGTA VImight look.
Firstly, we must ignore the fact that a DeLorean, the car featured in the Back to the Future series, is driving around in the Wild West. Well, that actually happened inBack to the Future Part III, but you get my drift. I suppose this weird collaboration makes the use of theStranger Thingstheme music more suitable.

DeLorean aside, this will be the same engine that poweredRed Dead Redemption 2, but it will likely look even better inGTA VI.I mean, just look at those landscapes and lighting effects. IfRDR2can look this good in a last-gen game, imagine how good it will look in a game developed exclusively for next-gen.
I know, this isn’t the ideal scenario to give us an inclination to howGTA VIwill look, but until Rockstar Games gives us something to chew on, then we’ll just have to make do with DeLorean’s driving around in the Wild West. Now if you excuse me, I’m off to watch the Back to the Future series.
Grand Theft Auto VIis expected to be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime between 2024 and 2025.
