Sony is at it again and this time they’ve joined forces with Team Ninja to bring usRise of the Ronin -an upcoming action RPG that combines elements ofGrand Theft Auto VIand Assassin’s Creed.
First announced in September last year,Rise of the Roninhas already been likened to titles and franchises includingAssassin’s Creed,Ghost of TsushimaandDark Souls-and so it is no surprise that fans are beyond excited for Team Ninja’s latest title.

Set across a war-torn 19th-century Japan, the combat-focused open-world RPG will tell the story of a nameless warrior who must forge their own path in a land overcome with war, disease and political unrest. It has been three centuries under the oppressive rule of the Tokugawa Shogunate and now the Black Ships of the West are descending upon the nation’s borders. Whether you like it or not, you now find yourself with the fate of Japan in your hands.

As with most upcoming games,Rise of the Roninwas alsovictim to leaksback in July and multiple leaked screenshots showed a rumoured skill/technique tree, difficulty options, numerous side-quests, performance and quality modes, planned romance options and also a hint that we could see the title released sometime in Q1 of 2024.
