Recently it was said thatRockstar Gameshas spent over $2 billion on the development ofGTA VI, and while that’s a lot of money to pour into one video game, it’ll undoubtedly make that money back with its initial sales.

That being said some fans think it won’t, and it has kicked several major arguments online about it.
One Reddit thread drew attention to a tweet that said, “There is no way on God’s Green Earth this thing [GTA VI]can possibly make its money back.”

Failing that, you just know it’ll have an enormousonline multiplayer elementwith plenty of updates over time, probably funded through microtransactions likeGTA V Onlinewas.
With all of that in mind, there’s no doubt Rockstar Games will turn a profit on the game, even if the cost of hardware to run it is more expensive than it was in the earlyGTA Vdays.
GTA VI’srelease date is nowhere in sight at the time of writing, with the game expected to drop sometime towards the end of 2025, as long as there are no unexpected delays.
