According to Zelnick, games should be priced on their “per hour value”, meaning they should be priced based on how much gameplay you can get out of them.
This controversial take is just another way of saying that players should be paying more but Zelnick also believes that such a thing would be pretty hard to achieve. “That doesn’t necessarily mean that the industry has pricing power or wants to have pricing power. However, there is a great deal of value offered.”
