Since its inception, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series has pushed the boundaries of both social acceptance and console hardware and withGTA VIseemingly being indevelopment for around 10 years, it will no doubt prove to be no exception. However, with a long development cycle and hefty production costs, it might be safe to assume thatGTA VIcould be a little more expensive than the typical AAA game.

The cost of video games continues to increase, with many games jumping from a standard £59.99 to £69.99 for major AAA new-gen releases. One could argue the case of inflation, which is a reasonable argument but on the flipside, the video game industry is making more money than it ever has right now.

It’s difficult to put a price on value as it’s subjective to an individual, but if a game could warrant an RRP of £69.99, it’s likely to beGTA VIand Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive knows it.

Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games certainly know how to milk the cash cow that isGTA Vwhether it is unit sales, its Shark Cards sold as in-game currency forGTA Onlineor its subscription service, GTA+. So regardless of what the RRP is forGTA VI, it will make a grotesque level of money.

Grand Theft Auto VIwill be released in late 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, that’s assuming it suffers no release date delay.
