Take-Two Interactive, the parent company behindRockstar Games, recently had an investors call and great news -Grand Theft Auto VIis still on track to come out sometime towards the second half of next year.
Bad news… said investors call all but confirmed that the PC version ofGrand Theft Auto VIdoesn’t exist, at least for the time being.
Firstly, in case you were curious as to why people might have assumed the game would be delayed, this news follows on from the recent SAG-AFTRA strike.

Take a look atGTA VI’s trailer.
As for why this confirms that the PC version ofGTA VIstill isn’t on the way, the investor’s call specified that only the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X versions of the game currently have release dates. Any potential PC version of the game was omitted from the discussion entirely.

This is par for the course with Rockstar Games, though.
GTA V’sPC port came out a year after the console versions. Same deal withRed Dead Redemption 2. The originalRed Dead Redemptiondoesn’t even have an official PC port yet, and potentially never will.
That isn’t to say that a PC port ofGTA VIwon’t be coming, but rather that we’ll likely be waiting upwards of a year for said port.
Folks didn’t take the news too well.

“It’s so sad that every game on this list other thanGTA VIis launching with a PC release,”bemoaned onecommenter on Reddit.
“For the longest time it’s been a console release with a PC release ~1 year later.”replied another. “I don’t see why they’d change it now. PC players either wait an extra year or buy the game again for PC.”
Personally, I don’t think this is a case of Rockstar trying to double dip and get consumers to buy the same game twice (although I’m sure they’re not unhappy with said outcome).
PC ports take longer. That’s pretty much it. A port of the game will eventually come out, but it’s better it takes longer and doesn’t come out as a buggy mess (like, say,Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition).
